Three years ago, I talked on the blog about Euclideon and its Unlimited Details technology, which allows you to create a computer graphics with endless details using points without even using a video card.
Many reacted to the technology skeptical, however, as in the whole world.
Nevertheless, the guys continued to work and last year opened the world’s first holographic entertainment room created using their technologies.
On the wave of hype around the VR, their development incognito-casino.co.uk remains unnoticed, it is understandable, entertainment is available so far only in Australia. However, the goal of developers, as soon as possible, open such rooms around the world.
No capacities at the output will be required, since this will not appear in the usual video game market for our PCs. Nobody needs, apparently, the outfits went to the hoodies.
As absolutely not a programmer, I ask the question:
For this technology for forming a picture, you will have to separately write physics and lighting technologies?
The fact that the shadow in the game already exists is noticeable, but the quality of the picture in this room is almost like in some 5d cinema.
I would like to see a demo of something according to the level of graphics and design in the area, at least the Duma or Batle Fild. To see how everything will work together: special effects, lighting, physics.
Well, most importantly, at the exit with a screwed by all this, as it will eat iron capacities ..
Well, the problem is that nobody needs it most likely due to non -obviousness, and possibly the real absence of some kind of winning from the transition to this technology.
After all, this is at least the development of new game engines, or their serious refinement, not to mention the fact that this can lead to a redistribution of video cards.
So I have a question, how much in terms of saving iron power, this technology can surpass a modern polygonal approach, if there is no such win, then it is really curious, but useless.
What is currently implemented with the help of this technology is generally in Sophic mode, that is, without a video card in principle. That is, there really is really no win, at least for NVIDIA and AMD.
so what? No need NVIDIA or AMD? And what from this? There are few games developers? After all, we need a game, not a video card with the support of this technology, and in your words, the processor can calmly issue and an even more saturated picture at these points. What prevents us to finalize your tools and try to find someone who will do something worthy of this technology? Or to release the game ourselves?
The fact that they rushed into the holly chambers, it looks like an attempt to earn on technology for its further development at the same time without selling it “red and green”, it seems to me that they would tear off the rights to this technology with their hands, at least to drown or be the first on the market, if it has at least some threat to the modern order of affairs.
What prevents us to finalize your tools and try to find someone who will do something worthy of this technology? Or to release the game ourselves?
The financing interferes. Technology was developed by a small office of several people. No one paid attention to this, no one would pay them for their work. And the Australian government allocated them financing for the development. On this they earn, this direction is being developed.
